Canada's future will need more power — and a new wave of nuclear projects is advancing that are ready to deliver.
Right now, electricity demand in Canada is rising fast. By 2050, our power needs could double or even triple, driven largely by AI, data centres, EVs, industrial electrification, home heating, and population growth.
That means Canada needs more than just more power. We need firm, reliable electricity that works around the clock, regardless of weather or time of day.
That’s where nuclear electricity comes in.
Today, nuclear reactors already provide about 14% of Canada’s electricity supply — and in Ontario, it’s closer to 50%.

The economic opportunity for Canada is massive. Four nuclear projects now underway in Ontario could generate an estimated $553 billion in economic impact for Canadians.
Just one of them, the proposed Bruce C Project, could generate enough electricity to power 4.8 million Canadian homes.
And Canada isn’t starting from scratch. We have the world’s third-largest uranium reserves, and we’re the second-largest uranium producer and exporter on Earth.
In other words, Canada has the fuel, the expertise, and the opportunity to lead.
