Why does the world need more Canadian liquefied natural gas?
Global LNG demand is growing by anywhere from 54-70% between 2023-2040 (projection)
Canada’s allies have asked many times for our LNG – preferring Canadian energy due to our shared democratic values
Between 2020-2064, a healthy LNG sector on Canada’s west coast could generate:
- Over $500 billion in economic activity
- 96,550 more jobs a year
- Over $6 billion in wages for workers
- More than $170 billion in government revenues
Canadian energy exports help us pay for our imports, making life more affordable
Global coal consumption is at an all-time high. The world needs Canadian-made LNG.
Canadian LNG is Indigenous LNG, according to First Nations Leaders, who are looking to these new export projects as a means of economic reconciliation.
Today, many indigenous communities have ownership in projects like Cedar LNG and Coastal GasLink.
Canada’s LNG advantage is obvious. We must move forward with the development of our natural gas resources for the benefit of Canadian and Indigenous families, Canadian prosperity, and global energy security.
