Does BC LNG impact healthcare?
The B.C. liquefied natural gas industry has had an overwhelmingly positive impact on healthcare in the province through its sponsorship of medical equipment that will help provide Canadians with improved treatments and diagnoses. The LNG sector has also made several contributions to B.C. healthcare initiatives and the community at large that support patients in need.
Will LNG Canada pose a risk to human health?
A report evaluating the health risks associated with LNG Canada found that the project would not present potential health concerns. Furthermore, any residual effects from the project are expected to be negligible, of long-term duration, limited to the human health assessment area, and reversible.
Why do activists say BC LNG will affect healthcare?
BC LNG obstructionists choose to mislead the public with misinformation and disinformation campaigns to try and scare Canadians. In one particular instance, an opposing organization used an image of an Iranian petroleum facility flaring gas in a bus stop advertisement against BC LNG, which does not represent Canada’s flaring operations in any way, shape, or form. Fake smoke was also photoshopped onto the image. This isn’t balanced, fact-based, or honest, and it shows just how far anti-resource-prosperity activists will go to mislead Canadians.
